About Tangerina Music
Tangerina Music is an independent Brazilian label built around a simple idea: lofi does not have to sound like it came from nowhere. Based in Rio de Janeiro, the label pulls bossa nova, samba and the warmth of Brazilian melody into chillhop, jazzhop and boombap, so the beats carry a sense of place rather than a generic haze of tape noise. The catalog moves between sunlit and submerged. There are upbeat summer records that feel like an afternoon on the coast, and there are deeper, more atmospheric collections where texture, sound design and ambience do most of the talking.
