52Hz Records takes its name from the 52 hertz whale, the one that sings at a frequency no other whale answers and gets called the loneliest in the world. It's a fitting image for lofi, music made alone at night for people listening alone, and the label leans into that quiet company. The whale in the bio isn't decoration.
The sound is mellow lofi hip hop for the hours you spend with yourself: studying, falling asleep, sitting in a cafe with headphones on. The label also thinks about where the music ends up and keeps its catalog safe for streamers, YouTube videos and gameplay, so the tracks travel further than a playlist.
It's built for producers, creative and passionate ones in its own words, and wants finished, unreleased tracks. It asks openly about AI and is happy to pair you with someone in its network if a collaboration would make the track better.
