Lofi Munk Records
Open for submissions
Lofi Munk Records comes at lofi from the hip hop side. Out of Vancouver, it releases boom bap, chilled hip hop, jazzhop and a bit of trip hop: instrumentals with the head nod still in them, dusty drums and sampled warmth rather than the weightless study playlist sound. The name says it too, a monk's calm, but with a groove.
The label runs on a yearly rhythm. Its compilations come back every season, Spooky Beats each autumn, Christmas Vibes in winter, Spring and Summer Vibes in between, so the catalog reads like a calendar of moods and a producer can aim a track at the next one. Between them sit singles and small records with a travel streak, Kyoto Sunrise, Cherry Blossom, City Talks.
It is strict about the basics: unreleased beats only, no AI, and only boom bap or lofi hip hop. If your drums knock and your loop could carry a verse, this is the right door.
