Beat's Tailors

Beat's Tailors is a collective and label based in Bologna, bringing together musicians, producers, and graphic artists who share a love for Hip Hop culture and samplers. The label's signature sound chases sharp, incisive rhythms with Jazz influences, while keeping the laid-back charm and atmosphere typical of Lo-fi Hip Hop. Its roster now counts more than 60 artists from all over the world. In just a few years, Beat's Tailors has made a name for itself on the national and international beat scene, in part through live events and collaborations with names like Apollo Brown, Okvsho, and many others.

Common Theory Records is an instrumental hip hop label based between Ghent and Munich. Even that geography says a lot about their identity: this is a very European approach to beat culture, shaped more by jazz influences, musicianship, and underground production traditions than by the typical “coffee shop lofi” formula. The scene they operate in is much closer to the classic beat scene lineage inspired by figures like J Dilla, Madlib, and Stones Throw Records than to modern streaming focused background lofi. Their world is rooted in instrumental hip hop as an art form, not just passive listening music.

Kicker Records

Kicker Records is a beat-scene label born out of friendship. British beatmaker Konteks (known for City Samba, Dusty, and producing Bittersweet Baby for blackwave.) joined forces with French collective Hip Dozer (running since 2014, the crew that broke Cookin Soul, SoulChef, FloFilz and DJ Cam). After four years of working closely together, they put a label between them, and you can hear it: Kicker sounds like a project run by people who aren't trying to reinvent the genre, they've just been living in it for years. The name doesn't reference music at all, it nods to skateboarding. A kicker is the ramp that gives you the lift for a clean trick. The metaphor reads itself: the label exists to give a push to up-and-coming beatmakers, to help them land bigger tricks. That sets the tone from the start, horizontal, friendly, supportive, not corporate. The aesthetic, in their own words, is "the cream of beatmaking". Konteks is described as a true digger, mining hip-hop with a capital H: lo-fi, boom-bap, downtempo, ambient, jazzhop. This isn't functional study-lofi made to sit in the background, it's instrumental music with real production taste, sample flips, and a jazz sensibility.

Mono Spiral Records is a French independent label built around a clear mission: *“building a timeless catalog where every release tells a story.”* Rather than chasing playlist placements or feeding the release conveyor belt, the label focuses on creating a body of work that can outlast algorithmic trends. That kind of long term thinking is rare in the lo-fi scene, where many labels operate one release at a time. Mono Spiral approaches its catalog as a cohesive artistic statement. The concept is embedded in the name itself. *Mono Spiral* evokes a monochromatic spiral, movement centered around a single point while continuously going deeper. That is exactly how the label feels: one aesthetic direction, one emotional palette, one evolving narrative unfolding release after release. Every artwork, every sound, and every artist becomes another turn of the same spiral. One of the label’s strongest assets is its visual identity. As they describe it, there is a *“strong visual identity and a deep sense of storytelling, where music and visuals intertwine.”* This goes far beyond simply having attractive cover art. Mono Spiral treats releases as audiovisual experiences, where imagery and sound are designed to complement each other. The result is not just a collection of tracks, but a series of self contained worlds that listeners can step into.
