Inner Ocean Records

Inner Ocean Records is one of the genuine heavyweights of the lofi and beat scene, a Canadian label, record store and boutique distributor running since 2012. They're not a curator-page that grew into "kind of a label", they're a fully built music house with a roster, a physical store, a distribution operation, and a community that has formed around them for over a decade. The mission statement reads as quietly ambitious: "a platform for artists to share music and visual art that evokes both calm and reverie". Two words do all the work, calm and reverie. The whole catalogue is built around music that pulls you inward, not music that energizes or distracts. It's an inner-ocean kind of label, the name is a thesis.
